There's a lot of information available to get you started on
your pond project. If you want to do the research and invest the time and effort
(and make a few mistakes along the way!) you too can be a pond expert! None of the
references listed will replace the expertise that a good pond consultant and a good
contractor bring to the project, but they are a great place to start.

This is a great booklet! It covers primarily pond
building and is *the* resource for that information. It was out of print
for some time and poor quality photocopies were floating around in the pond
building community. Anyone that had an original copy would not loan it
out! It was revised in 1997 and reprinted. Write or call the USDA
for a copy. I'm not sure of the price - It may be free for the asking
at your local USDA office.
